The Sons Of Confederate Veterans (SCV) is a non-profit, non-political, non-racial, non-sectarian organization that honors their Confederate Veteran ancestors and promotes southern Heritage. Membership is open to males who have ancestors that were Confederate Veterans.
The SCV was organized in Richmond, VA in 1896 to carry on the fight for preserving our Southern Heritage and presenting the TRUE History of the South. Our primary mission is to promote the cause of the SCV, that being the following charge given to us by Lt. General Stephen Dill Lee, the Commander General of the United Confederate Veterans, in New Orleans, Lousiana in 1906.
"To you, sons of Confederate Veterans, we submit the vindication of the cause for which we fought; to your strength will be given the defense of the confederate soldier's good name, the guardianship of his history, the emulation of his virtues, the perpetuation of those principles he loved and which made him glorious and which you also cherish. Remember, it is your duty to see that the true history of the South is presentated to future generations."
The SCV is a family-oriented organization, so ALL are welcome AND encouraged to attend the monthly Camp meetings and Camp events. Contact your local SCV Camp today and join us in preserving YOUR Southern Heritage!!
