Open Letter To All of Our Supporters, the Patrons,
the Reenactors, and the Volunteers

To some of you visiting our site, this is a first time trip.  To others this in an annual pilgrimage.  Some of you have worked long and hard to make this dream a reality; while others are only here a few days each year.  But without each and every person, we could not achieve the greatness of being one of the premiere events in the Southeastern United States.  To all of you we say Thank You.

The proceeds from this event assist in the funding the Brigadier General Barnard E. Bee Confederate Memorial Park.  This tract of land is being transformed into a Confederate Memorial Park to allow the opportunity for reenactments and living history events for years to come.  The Battle in 2004 began funding the purchase of the initial land to host the annual event.  Subsequent battles have supported our cause and allowed us to purchase additional land to increase the memorial site that we have envisioned.

Through these purchases, the Barnard E. Bee Camp has had the opportunity to develop additional areas that has helped in so many ways:

  • Some of the land has allowed us to provide a course through wooded terrain for an exciting Saturday Morning Tactical.  The opportunity for a tactical could lead into the main afternoon Battle of White Pond, a Union victory on Saturday, and feature the Battle of Aiken victory on Sunday, as a win for the Southern Patriots.

  • We are continuing to develop an area of the battle park to better portray the overwhelming Union forces that came through and pushed the Confederates toward Aiken and Augusta.

  • We have been able to expand our parking area.

  • In addition to all of this, we are able to give back to the community in many different ways.  We are presently giving Scholarships, working to preserve grave sites of Confederate Veterans, erecting memorial markers, and getting involved in other community projects of Historical interest.

We want to thank you for your support over the years.  We do appreciate all that you do to make this event the success it has grown to be.  Believe us when we say that every penny we get is put to good use.  Hopefully, within the next five years our land will be paid for.  This will allow us to undertake some major improvements to the park and hopefully fund a museum.  This will allow us to truly make this a Confederate Memorial Park to honor our Ancestors, both Blue and Gray.
